When is it Time for Hospice?

Research has shown that more people are taking advantage of hospice care, but that many patients are coming on too late to fully receive the benefit a hospice team can offer. A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found the cancer patients who have been admitted to hospice are less likely to be hospitalized, to be admitted to the intensive care unit, or undergo invasive procedures.
