Finlay treated to day at skate center

Shirley Finlay, of Sedalia, whose favorite color is pink, was one of the original skaters at the Wheel Thing Skating Center in Sedalia when it first opened. Finlay, a Crossroads Hospice patient, would go all the time with her family but hadn’t participated in the sport in more than 30 years until she requested a return as part of a Gift of a Day.

Crossroads Hospice arranged the skating party for Finlay and four generations of family through its Gift of a Day program, which asks patients what their perfect day would be and then staff and volunteers work to make it a reality.
