Vietnam vet honored by Patriot Guard Riders
Sunday, September 25, 2016
Sergeant Benny Thompson served as an artilleryman at the height of the Vietnam War.
Sunday, his sacrifices were honored as his family prepares for their soldier’s final deployment.
About a decade ago, Thompson had a stroke and soon his life will come to an end.
Thompson’s body is failing and he may only have a few months left to live. Crossroads Hospice gave him “a day out,” which is generally a final wish.
For his day out, Thompson was honored by The Patriot Guard Riders with a ride and ceremony.
Unable to speak for himself, Thompson’s wife says he was happy to see the riders and was excited to see them arrive at their home.
