Woman celebrating 105th birthday becomes Honorary Duckmaster
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It was a special birthday for a woman celebrating her 105th birthday on Friday.
She was the Honorary Duckmaster for a day at the iconic Peabody Hotel in Downtown Memphis.
Crossroads Hospice asked Mrs. Dorothy Davis to describe her perfect day as part of their Gift of a Day program.
Staff and volunteers then worked to make that day a reality.
Surrounded by family, friends and her hospice team, Mrs. Davis, dressed to the nines in a beautiful black dress, red jacket and tiara, was whisked away to the hotel in a limousine.
When she arrived, she joined the Peabody’s Duckmaster for a special ceremony in which she walked the ducks into the lobby and then enjoyed a birthday luncheon.
WREG was told Mrs. Davis use to work at the hotel as an elevator operator and housekeeper.
