Halloway’s “Gift of a Day” Is A Big Win
Dwight Halloway grew up in the town of Washington Courthouse, Ohio, less than one hour away from the infamous “Horseshoe” stadium – home to Ohio State’s storied football program. His passion for the Buckeyes took root there when he was a child and now at age 91, Halloway is as big a fan as ever.
To give him the gift of a perfect day, Crossroads Hospice staff members decked his residence in scarlet and gray and adorned themselves in Ohio State gear. Joined by his daughter and great grandson, Halloway enjoyed a Buckeye photo booth, football themed refreshments and a screening of the Ohio State game and marching band halftime show. Enthusiasm and encouragement from the Crossroads team made the tailgate atmosphere complete. Regardless of how his favorite football players performed on the field that week, Halloway’s day was a winner.
