Giving Thanks for Our Staff
Everyday at Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care, we are surrounded by a team of people who are committed to each other and to providing the very best in patient care. This Thanksgiving, we’re most thankful for this special group of people who continue to pour their heart and soul into each day.
Throughout the turbulence of the last year and half, we have seen some of the most incredible acts of kindness, caring, and dedication.
Our Green Team has been unwavering in their commitment to making sure patients continue to receive the care they deserve. They found new ways to connect. They arranged outdoor visits. They put together activity gifts and gift bags to let patients know they were thinking of them. They fought to give families the opportunity for a final goodbye with compassion and empathy. And they stayed bedside themselves so patients would not die alone.
Behind the scenes, our office team organized referrals, managed medical records, and kept the accounting straight. Their steady support allowed those in the field to do more each and every day.
Serving patients and families who are facing serious and terminal illnesses is a calling for our team. The work can be challenging. It requires compassion, empathy, and tremendous resiliency. We are grateful for our team members who step up to provide care at all hours of the day and night to ensure no patient and no family has to go it alone.
"I am thankful that our staff continue to support our mission especially in the wake of COVID-19 so that other families may enjoy what might be the last holiday with their loved one/ones," said Danny Cox, RN, BSN, Senior VP of Clinical Operations.
As we head into the holiday season, we ask all of our Crossroads team members to remember to use some of that incredible compassion on yourself to take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Your presence makes each of us stronger.
For those on our team who work on Thanksgiving and all the upcoming holidays, we wish to extend a special thank you. Giving up your own holidays and time with your family to care for others is an incredible gift.
Terri Doughty, Senior Vice President of Operations, also shared, “This year, as always, I'm thankful for my family and our continued good health. I'm especially thankful for all of the wonderful healthcare workers I'm blessed to work with at Crossroads each day. I'm humbled by their dedication and willingness to do whatever is needed to provide exceptional care.”
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
