A Special Family Outing to the St. Louis Aquarium

Vicki Hargrove, a 68-year-old grandmother, wife, former teacher and cheesecake lover, has been described as incredibly loving and grateful with a great sense of humor. She has a flair with accessories and a passion for jewelry.

Throughout her life, Vicki was active in church and family life. She has thoroughly enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with her beloved preteen granddaughters, Avia and Savannah.

As Vicki’s battle with ALS progresses, it isn’t as easy to go on family outings. Vicki now spends most of her time at home. That’s why for her Gift of a Day, Vicki asked her Crossroads in St. Louis care team to coordinate a family visit to the St. Louis Aquarium.

Michael, Vicki’s husband of 41 years and her Hospice Aide Ebony joined Avia and Savannah for the outing. From the otters to the turtles to the piranhas, everyone enjoyed the aquatic exhibits immensely. Avia and Savannah even got to touch jellyfish, stingrays and baby sharks. It was a day with their grandmother they’ll remember forever.
