A Major League Mother's Day at the Ballpark

Kathy Honsaker has been a baseball fan ever since she can remember. She enjoyed going to games growing up and when she became a mother to three boys, she shared her love of the game with them.

Kathy and her sons spent every summer at the ballpark bonding as a family and cheering on the then Cleveland Indians, which were recently renamed the Cleveland Guardians. These are some of Kathy’s fondest memories.

For Mother’s Day and her Gift of Day, Kathy wished to keep her family baseball tradition alive and go to a major league baseball game once again with her boys, now all grown men. Her Crossroads in Cleveland care team made it happen with the generosity of the Cleveland Guardians Organization.

When Kathy arrived at Progressive Field, she was presented with a one-of-a-kind Guardians jersey with her name on it. Then she was treated to seats near home plate. The Guardians mascot Slider even stopped by to present Kathy with a bouquet of flowers. Best of all the Guardians beat the Angels 4 to 3, making the beautiful spring Mother’s Day baseball outing even more special for this Mom and her three sons.
